Another year completed...I think I am going to give it another try!

20 Weeks...

How far along? 20 weeks

Total weight gain? 3lbs…my doctor is not happy with me!

Maternity clothes? Luckily the style of clothing right now works great for maternity. I did splurge and buy 2 pair of Lilac Maternity pants that I LOVE! I also wear jeggings…almost every day!

Stretch marks? I am so luck to not have any stretch marks yet. I put lots of cream on my belly twice a day, every day.

Sleep: So far so good. I can’t get enough. I knock out every night by 10pm.

Best moment this week: Bodi could feel the baby move for the first time. It was so amazing!

Miss anything: I’m missing having a body that goes forever. I used to be able to run all day without a break but my body is not having any of that! I can go for a few hours then I have to sit for about 20 minutes or I won’t be able to walk!

Baby Movement: All the time. Especially when I am resting or trying to fall asleep at night.

Food cravings: Taco Bell burritos…I know I’m disgusting! I hadn’t eaten Taco Bell in 8 years until now. I really want to eat it every day!

Anything make you queasy or sick: I was sick at 3 weeks with this pregnancy. Even though I was sick I could eat most things. I really had a hard time with red sauces. It was the worst because I couldn’t eat my favorite things like pizza, spaghetti sauce and salsa. I’m doing great now and eat everything in site!

Gender: Boy

Labor signs: So far no!

Symptoms: I have to pee all the time! At the beginning there was morning, afternoon and evening sickness. I am exhausted by the end of the day. I am in constant pain with my scar tissue and my adhesions on my ovaries. When the baby shifts positions it makes it worse. I would rather be in pain than throwing up!

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? It has been off since I was 3 months. By the middle of the day my hands are so swollen that it didn’t fit. I wear my birth stone from my Grandpa Rhodes instead.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy! I am so thrilled to be pregnant! I am constantly in pain but I try not to show it.

Looking forward to: Decorating the baby’s room. I know what I want just not exactly how to get there.

Christmas Fun...

We had so much fun this Christmas! We love our families and hate missing either for the holiday so we made sure we could be with both this year. We took a trip down to Ephraim to visit the Anderson's. The girls love going down there to see everyone. While we were there the girls decorated cookies.

My SIL Gussie had a special surprise that night. Her boyfriend proposed!

We are so excited to have Preston in the family!

On Christmas Eve we had a family party. We played fun games and had yummy food!

Then Grandpa took the kiddos on a ride. They found about the only snow in the county!

Then we drove up to Utah county to have a little party with my family. The kids got to open more presents.

We read the Christmas story and the kids acted out the nativity.

Sophie was Mary and Timmy was Joseph. Here he is leading his wife on the donkey.

The kids wouldn't keep their costumes on or sit still...oh well, its tradition!

Christmas morning was so much fun. The girls were so tired from all the parties that we had to wake them up at 7:30. We had church that morning so we only opened our Santa presents before. Laynie was thrilled with her new bike!

Sophie was excited about her Lala loopsy doll.

Of course we had to get a family shot! It was nice having Christmas on a Sunday. We were able to have sacrament meeting and sing beautiful songs and really reflect on Christ.

When we got back from church the Nana, Popi & Tim came over to open presents. The girls loved the puppet theater I made them! I was so happy about that!

We had our traditional breakfast of cinnamon rolls and breakfast casserole. Then Daddy spent the rest of the morning putting together all the new toys.

We spent the rest of our day in our pj's just playing with our new toys. What a fun Christmas!

Weeks 50 & 51...

Baby on Board...

We are so excited to be expecting baby #3! It has been a bumpy road the past year and a half trying to get this little one on it's way but we could't be happier! I have known I was pregnant since I was 3 weeks along. It has been torture knowing that long. It feels like the baby will never be here! I was sick before I even found out. I felt like the sickness was never going to end but I am 19 1/2 weeks now and feeling great. At 14 weeks I had these pictures taken of our little babe!

This is the cutest baby I have ever seen!

At 14 weeks I was not expecting to find out the gender. Bodi was supposed to come to the ultrasound but had a meeting rescheduled at the last minute. So when I found out that we were having a BOY! I was shocked and a little sad that Bodi wasn't there to see the amazing news.

The girls and I devised a plan for Daddy for when he got home. I called him and told him that I knew...It killed him that he had to wait all day to find out. My girls love Cake Boss and had watched an episode with a gender reveal cake. So we made a blue cake and disguised it with white frosting. When Bodi got home he had to cut into it to find out what we were having. He was thrilled to say the least!{even though his half thumbs up doesn't give that impression}

I am still in a bit of shock that we are having a boy. I don't know what to do with boys. I don't know what looks cute on boys or how to accessories. I don't know what to do with his room {thank goodness for Pinterest!} I am thankful that I still have 20 weeks to figure out what we are going to do!

We do know what this little guys name will be. It was an easy choice for us.

William James Anderson

He will be named after his Grandpa's William Anderson, William Carl Anderson, William Romney and James Rhodes. He has some big shoes to fill!

Grandpa Rhodes...

My Grandpa James Rhodes passed away on December 13, 2011. He was one of the most amazing men I have ever known. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be his granddaughter and to have learned so much from him.

We are so lucky to have been able to see him a few weeks before he passed away. He called the entire family together to have a family fireside. My Grandpa was a United States Marine. I knew this all my life but never fully understood what that meant. I always knew that he had a great love for his country and wanted his family to have it too. Until the fireside I had no idea of his amazing service and bravery. He told stories of the famous people he knew and served with. He told us about his survival as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. He told us of his 2 Purple Hearts and Silver Star. He told us of how his testimony grew because of his experiences. I feel so blessed to have heard his stories from him before he passed.

I am so thankful that my girls were able to know and love grandpa. They always loved getting big hugs and making him laugh. I am sad that my new little William will never know him on this earth.

Grandpa's funeral was really nice. We cried and laughed as we remembered his amazing life. He was honored to have a the Marine Core at his burial. It was a very sobering experience.

I love my Grandpa so much and will miss him deeply. I am so thankful for the knowledge of eternal families. I can't wait for the day when I can see him again, hear his big laugh and get a huge hug!

This is the Place...

We love going to This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake. We had never been there during the holidays before. We loved it! We had the change to go with some cousins. We got to go with the Smith cousins and the Rhodes cousins. We never get to see John, Sally and the kids because they live in Kansas so it was so fun to be with them! Nana and Hannah came too. When we got there we got to meet 2 of Santa's reindeer. We think they were Dancer and Prancer.

We got to make lots of fun crafts in one of the houses.

In the school house we got to learn some pioneer dances. The kids got so into it!

We also got to see a live nativity, carolers and a train ride. I think the highlight for the kids was the Big Man!

Sophie got to wear Santa's hat!

Even little Hannah got to sit on Santa's lap!

We had a great time. It was the perfect way to spend time with family and to get us into the holiday spirit!

Disney On Ice...

First of all I have to preface this by saying...I have always wanted to go to Disney On Ice. I had never gone to any ice skating show before...ever. {I blame my parents...just kidding!} When my Mom called and told me how to get some discount tickets I jumped on the opportunity. We invited our Smith cousins to come along with us.

The kids were super excited to be there. I don't think any of them had any idea what they were about to see!

Of course we had to get ourselves some snacks. {Those snow cones were $12 a pop! FYI if you go to Disney on Ice bring your own toys and snacks!}

Bowen loved it!

We had so much fun seeing all the characters and stories. Hope we can go again someday!

1st Day of Kindergarten...

My Sophie finally started Kindergarten! She has been so excited all summer to start. She met her teacher Mrs Stanford the week before and really liked her.

She was so excited to line up with the kids in her class. She is so lucky to have lots of neighborhood friends in her class this year!

I'm officially a soccer mom...

Sophie came to me last year and begged me to play soccer. I was very skeptical to sign her up because she knew nothing about it (and we weren't sure if she had any athletic abilities at all). She had her first game last Saturday. Bodi and I were prepared to have her chasing butterflys the whole time...boy were we wrong!

Warm-ups!

She shocked us by going right for the ball. She wasn't afraid to get into the game and get the ball. She even scored 2 goals! Bodi and I were screaming and jumping up and down. It was like BYU just beat Utah! We had to stop ourselves from being "those parents" on the sidelines.

We told her that if she didn't cry we would get her an icee. (we also told her that we would give her $5 a goal...we quickly changed that to $1 a goal!)

Kynslee's Angel Day...

I was so excited that we finally were able to make it to Kynslee's Angle Day. It was such a special experience to be there and celebrate her life. Here is her story... KYNSLEE JEAN LAMB Kynslee is the love of our lives and the treasure of our hearts. She is so precious, so amazing, and truly a miracle. She was born on September 24, 2007 with many complicated heart defects. She had open heart surgery at 3 days old which was followed by many months at Primary Childrens Hospital, along with 3 more surgeries. She was a fighter. She endured a lot during her short time on this earth. She had so much dark hair that was all over the place. It was adorable. And when you looked into her beautiful dark blue eyes, you knew she was special. She brought us so much happiness. We had so much fun with her. We are so thankful she was able to stay with us for so long, and that some of the memories we have are at home and doing fun things. Kynslee passed away April 15, 2008. She was almost seven months old. Even though we know we will see her again, we miss her everyday. Our hearts ache to be able to hold her and kiss her. She has changed our lives forever. We love you Kynslee! Every year Kynslee's family and friends gather to write her messages on lots of pink balloons. Then we send the up to her in heaven!

the basement is done...yeah!

*** WARNING-DON'T READ THE BEGINNING OF THIS POST IF YOU GET WOOZY BY BLOOD***

We have been working on our basement for the past few weeks. We hired a wonderful contractor who was fast and clean. After they were done Bodi started the finishing work. That took a little longer than we wanted but it is finally done. We got carpet laid on Friday morning. That evening when we were putting the furniture in Sophie started screaming. There was blood all over her foot. We realized that she had cut her foot open with a carpet cutter that the carpet guy had left. He had left it in the windowsill and Laynie got a hold of it. She dropped it on the carpet and Sophie found it with her foot.
We knew it was bad right away so Sophie and I headed to the doctor. She was so brave! She didn't want to see any blood or anything so I had to sit on her and hold her legs down for 2 hours.In the end she got 7 stitches in her toe. She should be all better in a week!

After all the drama we finally got the basement put together. Some of the biggest changes were the addition of the storage room. Thanks to Bodi and his great idea we finally have a place to put our stuff! The next big change was the removal of the wall and door. I was totally against this idea but now I love it. It is amazing how it opens up the whole room.

I have wanted to do wanes coating and mustard walls since we moved in. I am so excited to finally have it done!

Last but not least is the entertainment center. Thanks to my BFF Sister Abbey and her furniture ADD we got this amazing entertainment center that fits perfect!

We are so happy about how it turned out! Come on over...lets watch a movie...play games...whatever!

Laynie's Birthday Celebrations...

Laynie has been talking about her birthday party for months. Bodi and I didn't really what to do a big party so we decided on the zoo. Laynie loves the zoo and was super excited to go. When we got there she opened the map and told us where to go. We followed her around everywhere she wanted to go!

We were lucky to have lots of family come with us.

After the zoo we went to Red Robin for dinner.

Laynie was super excited for her GIANT piece of ice cream cake. She was niche and shared with everyone!

On her actual birthday she woke up to her presents first thing. She is at such a fun age that she gets so excited about every little thing!

She got her traditional candles in breakfast. She has been asking for a unicorn birthday for months now. We didn't do that so I made her a unicorn cake. She loved it!

We went up to Nana's to celebrate with the family.

Yes the cake had lots of frosting!

I think she liked it!

My crazy Laynie is 3 today. I can't believe we don't have any babies in our house any more. Laynie is such a joy in our family. She is so full of life and energy. She brings something new everyday. She is turning into a little lady before our eyes. We love you crazy Laynie! Happy Birthday!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My sister in law Jen was baptized yesterday. We are so happy for her and Bodi's brother Blake! Here she is getting ready to get dunked! It's a good thing she practiced because she had to be baptised twice! She was extra blessed! I was so excited that Jen let me be in charge of the decorations. I told her that we couldn't have a party without decorations. I made more paper lanterns for the table. My favorite part was the quote tags. I used lines from different primary songs. They turned out cute!

We had so much yummy food!

Jen and Blake are so loved! They had a huge turn out!

14 days of Love...

I love to celebrate Valentines Day. I always get so excited to get my decorations out and to think of all the fun things I can do for my kids. We celebrated our 14 days of love again this year. I love watching the girls get excited to look in their valentine bag to see what the activity of the day will be.

We sent out these Valentines to all our family. We tried to have a Valentines Day picnic but the wind would not cooperate. The kids did love their heart shaped pb&j though.

To end our 14 days of love we had our annual romantic family dinner. I made homemade heart shaped pizzas with fruit salad, green salad and sparkling cider.

The girls loved it!

To end our romantic dinner we had a dessert of chocolate dipped marshmallows and strawberries.

On to the next holiday!

Mommy and Baby Tea Party...

Sophie has been talking about her party for months. She had lots of ideas but ultimately wanted a party just like last year. Of course I couldn't do that! She has loved her American Girl Bitty Twin that she got for Christmas so we decided to do a Mommy & Baby tea party. I had a little bit of fun putting this together. (lets be honest...this party was for me too!)

And now for the table... I headed to the DI to find lots of tea cups and saucers. I even found the cute tea pot.

I used my new silhouette machine to make these lanterns.

Sophie was so excited! She got a new outfit for her baby that morning.

Before tea time we had to put their babies down for a nap.

The girls were so cute during the tea party. They kept giving each other cheers and acting very proper.

We made bracelets for the Mommies and the babies. The girls did such a great job beading.

Sophie finally got to open her presents. She has the best friends that gave her some super cute things.

And now the cake!

The party was a success. The girls all had a fun time...especially Sophie!

5 years...already!

I am having a hard time today...my sweet Sophie is 5 today! I can't believe how fast it has gone. It feels like yesterday that I was crying myself to sleep because I wanted her so badly that it hurt. The day she was born was the best day of my life! I have loved having her in our family. She is my sweet little lady with an amazing imagination and personality. I love watching her grow and learn new things everyday. I just want her to stay little forever!

New Beginnings...

When I heard that the beehive class was in charge of New Beginnings I was so excited. The whole thing came to me in 5 minutes. I have had it envisioned in my mind for a few months now and I am so happy that is over and that it was a success!
The YM/YW theme for the year is the 13th article of faith. We took the last line "we seek after these things" as our idea and turned it into Seeking Treasures. We had a pirate theme. Yes we all dressed up!

We started in the cultural hall with empty treasure chests on the tables. Here we did all of our introductions of the theme and all the things that go with YW(sports, camp, personal progress, activities, strength of youth...) We also gave them a packet with all the information in it. I forgot to take a picture :( Then we gave them treasure maps and sent them on their journey to find the "treasure".

Here are most of my cute beehives. I am so proud of them...my presidency all completed one 10 hour project by helping with New Beginnings!

Here is the favor. It is a bunch of candies in the value colors.

At the end of their journey the came back to the cultural hall to find the "treasure". We had filled the treasure chests with pictures of the temple. We had the bishop speak to the girls about the treasures of the temple and that the YW program is for them to go there someday.

Our refreshment was blue jello with fish candies on top. So cute!

Here is our whole crew with our new beehives. We has such a great night and can't wait for these new bees to come in!

Super Bowl / Birthday Party...

We were so excited for the super bowl this year! The Packers made it in! Our family loves the packers...especially my little brother Tim. He was so nervous the whole day and watched the game by himself because he couldn't handle the anxiety. Lucky for him they won! Here is the spread this year. We had more food this year than ever before. We had more food than we had at thanksgiving!

Didn't you know that Bodi is part Chinese? Just kidding... I thought it would be fun to celebrate Chinese New Year in style. I made chicken lo mane. We even had chop sticks and fortune cookies. I was surprised how well Sophie did with her chop sticks. She ate her entire meal with them and loved it!

what we did today...

We did nothing exciting today. It was just a good day. The kids played...I got a ton done...not a lot of TV (a new years goal for me)

It snowed last night and the girls were super excited to get out and play. Laynie didn't last long once she fell off the tramp and got snow on her face. Sophie was bound and determined to make a snowman. She rolled all the snow in the back yard. She was getting so frustrated because Sadie kept knocking it over every time she had it perfect.

She finally got him finished and was so proud of herself!

I finally finished the valentines envelopes. I am so excited to have them. ***We start our 14 days of Love tomorrow***

I also made these cute heart bags for Sophie's teachers. We are going to fill them with goodies.

Then Daddy got home and we played soccer. Of course we had to dress up in our super hero capes and Minnie hats. Its the "uniform".

Just a great day with no major drama or stress...love it!

Build-a-Bear...

Grandma Debbie took the girls to Build-a-Bear in November and got the girls their cute animals. They have been attached to them ever sense. For Christmas they each got a gift card so my Mom and I headed down to get them some clothes. Of course when we got there they had to give them a bath. Each animal also needed to visit the "hospital". They had holes that needed fixing. They each picked out a few outfits and accessories. They had to dress them before we left.

Sally and Pinkie both look so beautiful in their new outfits!

I think we have a new favorite place to go!

Bodi and I have been wanting to get rid of Laynies passy for a loooong time. She loved it so much and if you know her well you would know that she is hard to deal with if she doesn't get what she wants. On Monday I decided that enough was enough. She is almost 3 and the dentist told us to get rid of it months ago. I cut the tips off in the morning a put one in her bed. At nap time she picked one up and said "Mom it's broken. Where's the other one?" After looking at all of them she just tossed them aside and when to bed. I was so relieved that she didn't freak out! After her nap she decided that they were all broken and should throw them away! I was so proud that I took her immediately to the store to buy a toy!

So far so good!

Christmas Adventures...

We spend Christmas Eve with the Romney/Wood side. We went to see Tangled in the afternoon...Loved It! Then we went to my Mom's to partay. We decorated cookies and read the Christmas story.

Christmas Day was so much fun. The girls were so excited that they could hardly sleep. Christmas morning the girls ran down stairs to see if Santa came. He did and brought them their American Girl dolls that they really wanted.

We had to have a tea party right away!

I was so excited for the girls to open these super-girl capes. I think they liked them.

The final gift from Mom and Dad were pillow pets. The girls have been begging us for them. We couldn't say no.

Later that day we made the trek down to Ephraim to spend Christmas day with the Anderson Family.

We had a super fun Christmas this year. Can't wait til next year.

I was so excited about the girls Christmas outfits this year. My friend Rachel and I made these cute skirts for our girls. It was my first attempt at making skirts and it wasn't too bad! We got a group shot before we left for church...don't we look cute!

My sweet Sophie had her signing recital this week. She has been looking forward to it because she loves to perform...I wonder where she gets that? The second she got on the stage she started blowing kisses to the audience until the music started. She was just greeting her loyal fans!

Her group is called My Kind of Music by Karen Stevens. She is so great and chose some really fun songs for the kids.

I just love watching her perform!

Rhodes Family Christmas Party...

We had our annual Rhodes Family Christmas Party. We had a great turn out and tons of fun. Uncle Mike brought lots of fun "Reindeer Games" Sophie was so excited to play. Jaylee was really into this one.

Laynie was so excited to see Santa. He asked her if she had been good this year. She said "Yes I go pee pee in the potty" She is so silly!

Meet Jingle....he is my new favorite friend. Santa sent him to our house to keep and eye on my kiddos. He reports back to Santa every night to tell him if they were naughty or nice. Jingle really comes in handy when a little girl throws a fit or wont eat her dinner. Jingle came with this cute book. If you want Santa to send you an elf like Jingle go to nearest Hallmark store.

Let It Snow...

7:45am- Sophie running into our room screaming "It snowed!"
8:00am- Breakfast
8:15am- Running around trying to find all the girls snow clothes
8:30am- Out in the snow!

The girls had so much fun playing in the snow even though neither one of them have snow boots or pants that fit. I guess I need to go shopping!The neighbor kids were all out playing too.

My BIG kid Bodi was so excited to use his snow blower. He even got into jumping on the tramp.

SYTYC Dance..Dance..Dance..Dance...

A bunch of us galls from then neighborhood went to SYTUCD last night. It was super fun! I just love watching to show, but seeing the dances live is so much better! This year we had great seats and could see every things so well. I was so excited to see my favorite Kent! Here he is with Allison.

Pumpkin Carving

Bodi took pumpkin carving to a whole other level this year...power tools. Sophie wasn't liking the gooey stuff.

Laynie sat by Bodi the whole time with her little hand on his shoulder. She was "helping"

We started the night with Bodi's favorite chili and bread sticks.

The girls picked out their own costumes this year. Laynie was a perfect little frog

Sophie was our sweet chicken!

The whole day was perfect until it came time to go trick or treating. It rained all night. Daddy had the best idea to take the girls out in the covered wagon.

We are still in a sugar comma. Until next year...
