Best of 2013...

2013 has been such a great year for our family. We had been so blessed in many ways! We thank our Savior every day for the blessings, trials and opportunities that we are given.  Here is our top 10 of 2013.
{In no particular order}

1. Wills 1st Birthday
I was so excited to plan my last babies 1st birthday. It was so fun to plan a "boy" party. It took my 6 months and when it finally came we had so much fun at our Mustache Bash. You can see the entire party here

2. Sister Missionaries
Bodi has been the Ward Mission Leader in our ward for over a year now. Earlier this year we had sister missionaries come into our stake. They have been such a joy to have. We are fortunate enough to have them in our home often. They have brought such a special spirit into our home. They have given our entire family so many service opportunities that we are so grateful for. We have also focused so much more on missionary work and have been so mindful of the many things we can do. We love these sisters so much!

3. Disneyland
We LOVE Disneyland! We had planned on going sometime in 2014 but at the last minute decided to go in November. Grandma Debbie was kind enough to go along with us. The kids had such a fun time. We rode tons of rides and saw many characters. The girls got to go to the beach one afternoon as well. There is nothing quite like Disneyland. It really is the Happiest Place on Earth! We can't wait to go back.

4. Stake Youth Conference
Bodi and I were called in January to head up our stake youth conference. I was more than thrilled with the call and immediately started to get to work. After many hours, meetings and emails June finally came. It was a huge success in my eyes. Everything we planned came about smoothly. Testimonies were strengthened including mine. We had many spiritual experiences and I am so grateful for the opportunity.

5.  Romney Family Reunion
I opened my mouth years ago and volunteered to head up the Romney reunion. Little did I know that it would be the weekend after youth conference. Finding accommodations for 120 people that are coming from multiple states across the country is no easy task! We ended up staying at the Cedar Breaks Lodge in Brian Head UT. It was a great place. It was so great to see all the family together. We played games, had a talent show, rode horses, had a bonfire, rode the ski lift and had a testimony meeting. It was a great time. I wish we could get together more often!

6. Bear Lake
We LOVE Bear Lake. This year we rented out a cabin instead of camping. It was nice change. The weather this year was beautiful. We spent 2 days at the beach and explored the glacier. We also went to Pickleville to see Bandito and 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. We love having quality time with the cousins and all the family. It is a tradition that we home to continue for a long time.

7. Soccer
Before we had kids Bodi told me that none of our kids will ever play soccer. Well he was way off! Our spring and fall we consumed with soccer. Both girls have taken a liking to it and aren't half bad. Bodi had gotten way into it. He watches is and studies ways to help is team. Sophies team is undefeated this season so far. It is so fun to watch my girls play and to watch Bodi coach. GOOOOOOAAAAAL

8. Unofficial ADHD
It has been a rough year for our sweet Laynie. We have always known that she had anxiety and have tried to help her as best we could. Since school has started we had started to see other things from her. Disneyland was really hard for Laynie. She was beside herself with her anxiety and it was heartbreaking for Bodi and I. After many meetings with teachers and counselors we have come to the conclusion that she has ADHD. At first it was devastating but now we are so grateful. It has changed how we see our little girl. It has helped us to understand and to love her more that we already did. We have been making adjustments to our lives to help make things more pleasant for her and they are working. We are taking things one step at a time and all of us are so much happier!

9. Hunting
Bodi had lots of success hunting this year. He got to spend a lot of time with his Dad. That is his favorite thing about hunting. He got a spike elk up in Ephraim hunting with his Dad, TJ and Gage. He also got to go on a big hunt in Wyoming on his Uncle Pauls ranch. He had a ton of fun this year and now our freezer is full of meat!

 10. Family Fun
This year we have spent a lot of time with both of our families. Bodi and I have always felt that our families are the most important relationships that we have. We have had many activities and mini vacations with the families. We love everyone and hope that 2014 will bring more adventures!

12 Months

What a fun year it has been. I just love this little man more that anything!
Here are some more fun facts about baby Will...

* He started pulling up on furniture and cruising.
* He uses one of his toy trains as a walker and walks on his knees or on his feet all hunched over.
* 1st trip to St. George.
* Stopped eating most foods. He has become super picky. I thought he was teething but no teeth are coming in!
* Started to try out the stairs.
* Loves swimming in Nana's pool.
* Had another ear infection.
* He loves to be outside all the time. He still isn't walking so his toes are always scraped up. I try to put shoes on him but he kicks them off. He crawls around doing a bear crawl.

Mustache Bash

I have been planning Wills birthday party since he was 6 months. It was my first boy birthday and my last 1st birthday party so it had to be BIG! I spend weeks getting ready for this. I made his t-shirt, signs, invites, game, banners and cake. We invited all our family and close friends. We had about 50 people come celebrate with us. We held it at the bowery behind our chapel.

Everyone got a mustache when they came to the party. They got to see a few fun facts about Will.

I made will another mustache cake. This time I made a ton of cupcakes to go with it. I even made my own homemade butter cream frosting. I was scared but it turned out to be super yummy! One of my favorites were the lolly pops I ordered with mustache stickers that said Will's 1st Birthday!

We played pin the mustache on Will. He even got in on the action.

We had fun taking pictures of everyone in their mustaches.

Will was being a stinker most of the party but when I put him in his high chair he knew what was coming. It was the happiest he was all night!

He put on quite a show for everyone and dove right into his cake!

I think he liked it!

He was super spoiled by all this family and friends. He got to open lots of fun presents.

The party was a success! I am sad that it is over but had such a fun time planning this for my boy. Thanks to all our family and friends who came to celebrate with us!
