Week 52...

Day 24 & 25...

We had such a great time this Christmas! We did so many fun things this month all leading up to now.
Day 24: Christmas Eve. Nana & Popi came over to spend the evening with us. We started out the day by making sugar cookies. Later that night we decorated them. The girls ate more frosting and candy than they used to decorate.
Popi made a very special cookie! We made so many that it was hard to decide which ones to give to Santa!
We had a little time to play with Popi before bed. Sophie was so excited that she had a hard time sleeping...those were the days!
Day 25: Christmas Day. The look on Sophie's face says it all. She was in total shock that Santa had come.

Laynie climbed right in and didn't get out until she found out there was candy in her stocking!
She had fun playing with my new rolling pin. Sophie got a bag with some new scriptures and a children's hymn book. She is going to be a Sunbeam in a week.(boo hoo)
Before breakfast we had to take the jeep for a test drive. She is a crazy driver!
We had our traditional Christmas breakfast of breakfast casserole and cinnamon rolls.
Then it was off to my Mom's for more presents and a yummy dinner!

And then there is Chad...what more can I say!

Merry Christmas Everyone...

Quilts...

Last night we went over to my Dad's house to exchange our gifts. The kids were so excited when they opened their gifts and found a beautiful quilt made just for them by Grandma Susan. They are so fun! Susan worked so hard and they turned out great. Laynie got a green and yellow quilt with little girls playing dress up. Bridger got train quilt with a train track on it. He couldn't stop looking at it.
Sophie got a cowgirl quilt. She loved it sooo much. It even has her letter "S" branded on it.
Thank you Grandma Susan for these special quilts!

Day 23...

Day 23: Rhodes Family Party. We had a great time at our party last night. We finally got a picture with both girls with Santa...even though Santa was a Ute fan. Laynie was a little more interested in Santa but still not a fan. Here is Baby Payson...he is so adorable Even little Tim Tim got to sit on Santa's lap!
It was so great to see most of the cousins together!
Bodi and Ben posed for their Christmas card photo.

Day 21 & 22...

Day 21: Go to Temple Square. The girls were so excited to meet Grandma Debbie up at the Temple lights. On our way up there we found out that Bodi's brother Brady, his wife Tara and their little boy Isaac were coming too! The lights were beautiful and it was great to see the family!

Day 22: Color Christmas Pictures. The girls got some Christmas coloring books and have been coloring away in them!

Day 18, 19 & 20...

Day 18: Make a Christmas Treat. We made Bodi's favorite Cocaine Crunch. His Mom makes this every year and He has been begging me to make some for him. It is soooo yummy! Day 19: Christmas Village. We went up to the Christmas Village in Ogden with our friends the Kunkles. It was super cold but the girls didn't mind a bit!
Day 20: Christmas Sunday. We enjoyed a great Sunday service remembering the Savior at this special time of year.

Finally...

I have been envisioning Christmas dresses for my girls since October. I am so blessed to have a Mom that can sew anything. I was so excited to finally let my girls wear them to church today. They are exactly what I wanted!

We had a little photo shoot yesterday. I think they have been watching too much Project Runway. They have some great poses!

My Five:
1. Singing in the choir for Christmas Sunday.
2. Christmas Dresses
3. Cocaine Crunch
4. Feeling the Christmas Spirit
5. Christmas Songs

Day 17: Hand out Neighbor gifts. This year I found these cute ornaments to hand out.

a caroling we go...

Sophie had her preschool party on Thursday. We did a progressive party again this time. For my part of the party I took the kids caroling. I didn't think that they would like it so much...but the loved it! They were so excited to ring the doorbells. When the doors opened they sang "Jingle Bells" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". They were so cute!
After caroling we went back to our place and had some yummy hot chocolate!

Day 11, 12, 13 & 14...

Day 11: Watch a Christmas Movie. I came home from doing a little shopping to find my sweet husband watching this movie with my 3 year old. It's not the most age appropriate movie but it sure is funny! Day 12: Romney Cousins Party. I tried to get all the Utah family together for a Christmas party. We managed to get a few of us together for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. We had fun and hopefully we can do it again next year.

Day 13: Play in the Snow. We got about 6 inches of snow this weekend and the girls were dying to get out and play. Laynie had a hard time moving around with all of her layers on.
Day 13: Make a Gingerbread House. Sophie has been begging me to make her gingerbread house. We finally had some time tonight to do it for FHE. She loved it...or all the candy!
Laynie tried to help..but all she did was eat all the candy that fell on the floor. We even set up the tripod to get a family shot!
