COSTUMES.............

As you can tell we really like Halloween around here! I don't think I really appreciated this holiday until I had my girls. Now I get to dress them up and take tons of pictures!
Sophie had a variety of costumes to choose from this year thanks to my Moms never ending supply of costumes. She loved this witch costume so much that she even started to laugh like a witch!
This is her Mulan costume. She really loves the Disney Princesses but I knew that she would want to be that every year for the next 5 years so we did a non-traditional princess. This kimono was my Moms when she was 3. I think it is so cute!
Laynie is our little Kitty/Ballerina. Thanks to Bodi's Mom for finding this cute costume for her.

Happy Halloween Everyone!!
My Five:
1. Halloween Parties
2. Home made Chili
3. Costumes
4. Peppermint Tea.....It is helping me get my voice back
5. Halloween!!

Play School Party..........

It was my turn again for Play School. This week was our Halloween party. We had such a fun time. The whole family dressed up for the occasion.
The girls were so cute all dressed up in their costumes!

We played lots of games. We did a pumpkin ring toss and pumpkin bowling. The favorite was find the spider.(one girl hides out of the room while we hide the spider. We sing The Itsy Bitsy Spider song soft, then louder the closer she gets to finding the spider.)
For snack we had Scary Monster Hands...............OOOOOOOOOO.

I think they ate more popcorn than they actually put in the hands.

We ended up having a great time. I am just glad it is over because I woke up that day super sick with a cold. I am just glad that I made it through!

Pumpkin Carving with Grandpa

Sophie and Laynie spent the day with my Dad last weekend while Bodi and I went to the BYU game. She got to carve her first pumpkin. She didn't like the goo so much but she like the end result. Thanks Dad!

An update on the girls.........

Sophie my big girl is my little princess. She is my big girl helper and my comic relief. She is enjoying school and dance. She is already the diva in her dance class and is teaching all her friends how to do star jumps and rolls. She is growing like a weed. She is only 2 and is wearing 3T for the length. She is almost too long for some of them though.
You may be wondering why she is so sad in this picture......(see picture # 2) 1 bite of chicken lasagna and 1 bite of cauliflower. I have finally decided that she will at least taste what I make for dinner every night. I am sick of making 3 meals every night. (adult, toddler, baby) It took her 45 minutes to choke this down.

Bodi and I can't wait to check on Sophie before we go to bed at night. We always find something new and hilarious in her bed.

She loves this princess candy bucket from Halloween last year. She also loves her little toys all lined up in a row.

Laynie is growing up so fast! 7 1/2 months. She is busy and into everything she can reach. She as an attitude and lets everyone know it. She is very strong willed and I think she is going to be more demanding than her big sister. She learns something new everyday. Of course she started her baby talk and started with "Mama" and then "Dada" (she loves me more!)

I tuned my back on her for one second and this is what I saw. She almost flipped herself out of her bumbo. (notice the little foot of the table. she uses it to scoot her chair where she wants it to go. Genius!) She loves her snacks!

She is trying to crawl.... I don't know how I feel about this. On the one hand I am excited because she is doing something new and exciting. But on the other hand I am not going to be able to keep her contained for one second once she takes off. Oh well... I better enjoy the next few days because that is all I have left!

She constantly gets stuck under the tables. Then she screams until I come get her. Silly!

My Five:

1. My Moms house. It is so nice just to go somewhere else during the day.

2. Preschool- My mom was a preschool teacher for 20 years. Has lots of stuff and ideas.

3. Trying new foods. Yum

4. Baby giggles
5. Dance time- We all take a little time to dance.

When Daddy's Away the Girls Will Play.......

Bodi went on the rifle hunt this weekend and I wanted it to be a fun weekend with me and the girls. I have been wanting to decorate cookies for Halloween so that's what we did. We made the cute spider cookies that I have seen on my cousins blog and they turned out cute. I think that Sophie ate more of the decorations than actually got on the cookies! When we were done we took some to our neighbors so I didn't eat them by myself all weekend.

On Saturday we had to go and get flu shots :( This girls did very well and we all got matching bandaids. Sophie was such a big girl and didn't cry. She just yelled at the nurse and said "You hurt me!" She was giving her crusties the rest of the time. I was laughing so hard that it was hard to hold Laynie for her shot.
After the doctors office we went to the park for a while. Laynie loves to swing and could stay there for hours.
For dinner that night I made one of Sophies favorite foods. Waffles! I added a little twist. Pink Waffles. As you can see the girls loved them.
We had a great weekend and we are glad that Daddy is home safe and sound. PS no deer!!!!

My Five:
1. Fall is back. Love the 65 degrees!!!
2. Playing outside with the kids.
3. Nose kisses from Sophie
4. Laynie drinking from a sippy cup!!
5. Sunday Roast. Yum Yum

we love PUMPKINS...........

This was our second annual trip to Day Farms to the pumpkin patch. Sophie has been asking me for over a month now for her very own pumpkin. We kind of live out in the country and we drive past a patch every time we leave our house. We went with my cousin Amy, her husband Spencer and little girl Abby. We had such a fun time on the hay ride to the patch even though it was cold! FYI: Sophie is in the "not going to look at the camera to save my life" stage.

They had tons of huge pumpkins. We got to go out into the patch and pick one for all of us.
Look at the size of those pumpkins!
Pumpkin Painting
Today Amy and Abby came back to our house to paint the pumpkins. Our kids are still too little to understand carving so we let them paint. I helped Laynie to make this scary bat on her pumpkin. (she is the next vana white!)
The big girls really got into it. I would recommend this to all the moms out there! Super fun!!
This is my favorite one.

My Five
1. A handy husband. Fixed the plumbing, heater, garage...........
2. Close family. I love being able to see my extended family often.
3. Having a basement- a place for toys, guests, computer, piano, storage..........
4. Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0
5. Silly kids that are easily entertained.

what to do on the first snow day of the year.........

This morning:
Sophie: Mom it's Snow!
Me: Yep
Sophie: I want to make a snowman!

She has been waiting all summer to build a snowman and today was the perfect day for it. We woke up this morning with 3 inches of snow. By the time we got home from church it was mostly gone. Then we went up to my moms for dinner and the snow came falling down. Sophie couldn't wait to get out in it. Of course I forgot to bring her snow gear so she red necked it for the day. Aunt Hannah was nice enough to take her outside and play.
All she wanted to do was eat the snow. I just hope it wasn't yellow.
Snow Angles!
You always have hot chocolate after playing in the snow.
I think she liked it!

My Five:

1. heat

2. blankets

3. my uggs

4. relief society (so great)

5. spice cake pumpkin cookies (1 box spice cake + 1 small can pumpkin + choc. chips = yummy)

I got it anyway.........

Mastitis it is! Yes even though I tried to prevent it I still got it. 10 days of antibiotics 4 times a day on an empty stomach. Looks like I will get rid of my mastitis and loose a few pounds from not eating. Yeah!

Cold Turkey............

Yesterday was the day I quit nursing Cold Turkey! I couldn't do it anymore. This time around has been quite the struggle. Those of you who have an aggressive eater may understand. I nursed her yesterday at 6am and almost jumped out of bed in pain. In the shower I discovered a huge crack that was red and sore. I have had mastitis in the past and did not want to get it again. So I pulled out 2 sports bras and an ace bandage and here I am. Engorged. In pain. Feeling guilty. I know that I shouldn't feel guilty because she is 7 months old now and has gotten everything from me that she needs. I just can't help but look at that face when she is just begging for me with those cute little eyes and give in. But I'm Not! Here is the problem: Won't take a bottle. Won't take a sippy cup with formula. She will only take formula from a big cup. I'm afraid she is going to get dehydrated. Any suggestions?

My 5:
1. Thankful that I was able to nurse at all.
2. "What to Expect the First Year" book
3. Ice packs
4. My Chiropractor
5. Passies!!!
